HEAR YE! HEAR YE! HEAR YE!

On this Groundhog Day, February 2nd, the year 2005 on Gobbler's Knob, Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, Punxsutawney Phil, King of the Groundhogs, Father of all Marmota, Seer of Seers, Prognosticator of Prognosticators has been summoned by Groundhog President William Cooper. Phil gleefully exited his burrow at 7:31 a.m. to be greeted by his longtime friend and handler, Bill Deeley, who held him high so he could greet the large throng of Faithful Followers. He wished them all a "Happy Groundhog Day." Bill placed him atop the old oak stump where he surveyed his surroundings. He then turned to President William and in Groundhogese directed him to the scroll which reads:

Natural disasters have been a terrible thing; tsunamis,
downpours, floods, landslides, heavy snowstorms, avalanches,
frigid temperatures, sleet and freezing rain.
They all cause much destruction, suffering and pain.

When it seems like too much with which to cope;
The coming of spring brings us new hope.
Changing seasons is a wonderful thing.

Now it's Groundhog Day and we think of spring.
Will Spring come early or will it come late?

It's time for me to prognosticate.
As I study the sun
It's all about fun.
But I'm sorry to say
I see my shadow today.
When my shadow I see,
Six more weeks of winter there will be!
----------------------------------------
I love winter so screw you all and Yay! more winter!

Damn...I got my spanish grade in...a C... I was expecting a B and while it might seem trivial the difference I actually put a bit of effort into it...Spanish consumed a lot of my time (work 8-5p spanish 5p-7+ m-th) I was taking a second web clas which started eating in my weekends but I eventually cut back my effort there to concentrate on not burning myself out and screw up spanish...

If the effort I put in can't pull a B on Spanish1...There is no way I will survive higher well let alone pull better grades.

Which puts me in a very very nasty life choice...

28k a year job
or
finish my degree.

I just got myself finacially independant and my mom could not really and I do NOT want to go back into dept...I "was" planning on pulling my last 30ish hours slowly during the next 2-3 years but they are important and I'm really really worried since I can't screwup my end grades (my GPA couldn't handle it...I had a very nasty start)

Sent an email off to try and talk to the proff...I seriously doubt he made a mistake but I do want to see it all together and what really hurt me ect or if he thinks I'm a B student in general and should continue; not looking at this as a mountain, but a molehill unrepresentitive of what's to come.... And I want his input as I do like him and he seems to care.

I asked Danielle her thoughts and I'm annoyed I got the usual "I don't know" I can live with that when its "What do you want for dinner" but on something this major I really need to talk it out with people before I commit so heavily to one path or the other. I wish she could see that dispite it being "My life" she is involved and I WANT her involved and to voice some opinion...even if she thinks I won't like hearing it.

bah (Not trying to take this out on her)

Just really

Really

frazzled by it. Its been ages since I wanted to drink to forget about something.

Brant's leaving too, his last day is today infact...a newer friend but he will be missed reguardless... Tried to hide how I felt about it by kidding alot with him...still I don't want to see him go (He let his family convince him it was "best" for him)

I'll dig through my album and find "Life is Shit" or "Big Deal".

oh look, its time to post again...so I can keep my once every 2-3month count going ^_-

First up, for those of you unlucky enough to have never traveled with me...I like to drive...and boy do I ever drive when I go on trips :)

http://www.world66.com/myworld66/visitedStates/statemap?visited=ALARCACOCTDCFLGAIDILINIAKSKYLAMDMAMSMOMTNENVNJNMNYNCOHOKORPASCTNTXUTVAWAWVWY

Every single one of those states has been visited without use of a plane :)

My brother of course one upped me years ago by going from Pacific to Atlantic via only a bycycle built for two (his wife)

I'm still trying to think of a way to keep up with him without using his idea...

And part two...While I admit I would USUALLY not bother to mention such scripted speakes, the Democratic National Convention Speaches are available freely online via iTunes Music Store, however I am making an exception...go listen to Day three...inparticular Rev Al Sharpton's. Lets just say he didn't use the telepromptor and was just a wee tad bit over his timelimit...whether you agree or not with his topics is up to you...at least its someone who still has a heart/soul and therefore I believe at LEAST deserves to be heard.

Part 2 Also available on the freebie iTunes list is the 9/11 Commision's Final Report - Executive Summary (1hour long)

Welcome to the "wonderful" State of Texas....a new law to be on the watch for...

SB 193
Requires drivers nearing a stopped emergency vehicle that has lights
activated, unless otherwise directed by a law enforcement officer, to:
Vacate the lane closest to the emergency vehicle, if the highway has two or
more lanes traveling the direction of the emergency vehicle; or

Slow to a speed not more than 20 miles per hour (mph) less than the posted
speed limit when the posted speed limit is 25 mph or more; or

Slow to a speed not more than five mph when the posted speed limit is less
than 25 mph.

A violation is a punishable by a maximum fine of $200. If the violation
results in property damage, the maximum fine increases to $500. If the violation
results in bodily injury, the offense is enhanced to a Class B misdemeanor.

So: A Police Officer can pull over to the side of the road...turn on his lights and if you don't slow down / switch lanes you get a 200$ ticket. And I found out about this because a ticket happy area has now decided to double whammy a Freeway by speedtrapping THEN getting all the ignornat masses that pass them without slowing with a 200$ fine. A friend got hit for going 58 in a 60...they had a line of over 5 Policecars in a 2mile stretch constantly writing tickets for this. I would even go so far as to say the point that the intitial hooks by the speedtrap total tickets probably PAILED to all the ADDITIONAL tickets they handed out over passing one of the stopped police cars.

And thankfully not mine either...but our poor neighboors were not so lucky in the windstorm Tuesday.
Me and danielle helped them quickly (and probably stupididly risking everyones safety) remove any personal/valuables from the room that got hit (you could see through the ceiling to outside)

Moral of the story

BUY RENTERS INSURANCE.
